en.v will be hosting the second workshop for its ‘Creative Minds for Social Good’ (CMSG) program during the month of April 2018, following the success of the first workshop, which took place in December 2017. The CMSG program aims to increase the capacity of creative voices in the Middle East and North Africa to disseminate compelling online content that counters violent and divisive narratives and promotes the values of peace and tolerance.
24 candidates will be selected to participate in this two day workshop, to receive a combination of expert training and one-on-one mentorship from leading film creators, storytellers, directors and producers, with a focus on conceptualization / messaging, creative direction and development, dissemination and outreach, and monitoring and evaluating impact. Following the workshop, 12 of the 24 participants with the most promising concepts will be offered a grant of up to 5,000USD each to develop impactful short videos and awareness campaigns for social media platforms.
Selection Criteria – Who can become a participant?
- Committed to taking action against violent extremism (core requirement)
- Aspiring activists and creatives (encouraged)
- Experience with social media campaigns and/or video editing (preferred)
- Above 18 years old
- Residents of Kuwait
