The en.v Initiative (en.v), an organization dedicated to social responsibility in the Arab world, and Zain, the leading mobile telecommunications provider, announce the launch of the REUSE exposition in Kuwait.  In its fifth year, REUSE 5.0 will be held on April 19 – 21st and Earth Day (22nd) from 5 to 9pm daily at the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK).

REUSE 5.0 will serve as an opportunity for non-profit organizations, companies, professionals and aspiring creative talents to showcase their accomplishments in the fields of social responsibility and sustainability via a range of artistic mediums and interactive activities for the general public.

This year’s exhibit will feature internationally recognized artist Hassan Hajjaj and critically acclaimed graphic designer Tarek Atrissi. Zahed Sultan, the Managing Partner and CEO of en.v, has also written and released four songs as an EP (short album) to commemorate this year’s exhibit. The “Reuse Me – EP” is available for download on all major online music stores such as iTunes and Amazon.

“For each REUSE that we host, our greatest challenge is to find and secure dedicated individuals, groups, and organizations to feature within our space. Further, each REUSE is designed and constructed vastly different than its predecessor. This year’s exposition is going to raise the "creative" bar visually and experientially. On a personal note, I am excited to release my new collection of music in which I sing in English and Arabic for the first time!” exclaims Zahed Sultan.

REUSE’s organic growth over the recent years has led it to be positioned as Kuwait’s premier creative exposition for sustainable (eco-friendly) thought; Serving as an interactive means for dialogue and action amongst the private sector, public sector and civil society.

Zain is the Preferred Partner for this year’s REUSE exposition. Zain is an avid supporter of environmentally friendly efforts in Kuwait. Over the years, Zain has introduced a range of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and internal policies to generate awareness for the importance of waste management and adopting responsible lifestyles. These include the ‘Don’t Throw It, Recycle It’ campaign, the 'Environment Friends' campaign and more recently the “Drive Safe” campaign.

Waleed Al-Khashti, Zain Kuwait Corporate Communications & Relations Department Manager, commented on the company’s commitment to recycling and taking a lead role in supporting REUSE 5.0 in 2012; “We are excited to sponsor RESUE for the fourth year in a row as it is part of Zain’s commitment to support environmental initiatives”

Zain’s Kuwait office is a strong supporter of recycling programs and has initiated a range of local projects to generate more awareness of the importance of waste management. These include recycling of company waste on a daily basis.

REUSE 5.0 is also supported by reputable companies such as Agility, MRC, Kharafi National, and UDC. Esteemed media partners for REUSE 5.0 also include Bazaar Studentalk, the Talk, and Ahlan magazine.

In accordance with The en.v Initiative’s ethos towards environmental responsibility, REUSE is devised, executed as a “Carbon Neutral” event.  Accordingly, en.v ensures environmental concerns are addressed and documented during every phase of the exposition.  Upon completion of the exposition, en.v conducts an internal carbon footprint audit and offsets all emissions by investing in a “Climate Friendly” project.
