Maali Al Asousi began volunteering at a very young age, during and after Kuwait's occupation. She then took on an active role in promoting youth and women's entrepreneurship in Kuwait, co-founding the local branch of the Business and Professional Women's Foundation, and eventually established Tamkeen, a leading NGO promoting development throughout the Arab region.
