Kuwait City, 10 April 2017 – en.v collaborated with the Kuwait Projects Company to develop and implement this year’s KIPCO Sharakah Forum & Workshops, which took place from March 19th to March 23rd, 2017. The primary objective of the initiative, which is going to be organized annually, is to bring together key stakeholders involved in the field of social responsibility in Kuwait, with an aim to foster the creation of shared value through collaboration and capacity building. This year, the main theme which was addressed was how to increase collaboration and partnerships between the public, private and non-profit sectors to contribute more effectively to the country’s sustainable development. The initiative was implemented in partnership with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS).
The forum’s official opening took place on March 19th at the Salwa Sabah Al Ahmad Theater & Hall, under the patronage of the Minister for Social Affairs and Labor, Her Excellency Hind Subaih Barrak Al Subaih. Leading representatives from the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs, the Ministry of Planning, KFAS and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research also attended the event, along with close to 100 representatives from local civil society organizations (CSOs) and executives from prominent corporations in Kuwait. The forum opening was followed by a series of six workshops taking place over four days, covering key topics related to financial sustainability for non-profits, including proposal-writing, profits for non-profits, introduction to social entrepreneurship, communicating with zero budget for non-profits, crowd-funding, and creating shared value partnerships. The workshops were developed by en.v with the support of local, regional, and international trainers, and were delivered to close to 150 representatives from over 40 CSOs and international organizations. The main objective for the workshops was to contribute to strengthening the role of local non-profits and increasing their ability to acquire resources to promote their causes.
